Situated on a peninsula at the mouth of the Saltfjord, Bodo has a view west of the silhouetted Lofoten Islands' peaks rising from the sea. It suffered terrible damage during German bombing in World War II, and today boasts a fascinating Aviation Museum containing such unusual exhibits such as a U2 spy plane, a Catalina sub-chaser and more.
